Dear Grandma,

Where do I begin...

I wish that I had known that the last time I saw you would be the final time as I would have hugged you for longer. I would have asked more questions and told you more about what was going on in my life.

I will miss seeing you each time I come over, admiring how even at the age of 89 your hair and skin was still so lovely. You were always beautiful to me...

I take comfort in knowing that you’re reunited with Grandad Frank once again - give him a hug and kiss from me will you?

Nothing I write will ever feel enough. There are so many things that I wish I could say or ask. I am forever grateful to have had you and Grandad Frank as great grandparents and extremely lucky to have had you in my life for so long.

I will hold onto our memories in my heart and treasure them forever. I remember when I was last with you and mum wanted to take a photo of us all. You still had your curlers in and immediately pulled them all out so they weren’t in the photo - 89 and still wanting your hair to look perfect!

I will remember all your stories that you told us and I will miss seeing you stood at the window or gate waving goodbye as we left. I don’t think there was ever a time that you didn’t do that!

I could carry on writing forever but then I would be rambling. For now, I must say goodbye but I know I will see you and Grandad Frank again one day.
