Catherine JoanDOCHERTY("The Cat Lady") Catherine (Joan) Docherty, 76, beloved wife, mum and nana passed suddenly on Monday 18th April 2022 after a short battle with cancer. She spent her life running a cat rescue and was known as Joan The Cat Lady. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. There will be no public funeral service. No flowers please. If you wish a small donation in her name to an animal or cancer charity would be appreciated.

So very sad to hear that Joan had passed away.. we had known her for many years and will be sadly missed 😔 There is no number that can describe just how many poor stray and feral cats she has helped back to health over the decades.. a true one off..people like Joan appear once in a lifetime....

Joan you have been my best friend and work mate in Cat Action Trust for 30+ years. Your energy and passion for animals has always amazed me. You made the lives of hundreds of cats and kittens so much better. I will miss you forever, so will the cats.
I would like to thank Andrew for all he put up with over the years when we arrived at all times with yet more cats. He never once complained. To Marie and girls thank you too.
You must have had a huge welcome at Rainbow Bridge. Wait for me.
To all our faithful supporters a big thank you. Without you we could not have helped so many.

A wonderful animal lover and friend. Joan will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She gave her life to helping animals and finding new homes for all her rescued animals. Her family must be so proud of her and I am sending them my best wishes for the future, especially Andrew.
