Peacefully in hospital with family by her side, on 10th April, aged 79 years.

Loving wife of Ian, dearly loved mother of Aileen and the late Nicky, adored grandma of Sophia, Omar, Oyaz and Cam, and great-grandma of Teddy.

Friends please meet for service at Whitley Bay Crematorium on Thursday 15th May at 10.30am.

Private afterwards.

Flowers welcome or donations if preferred may be sent to Macmillan Cancer Support. A donation box will be available at the service.

Dear Ian, Aileen and all of Val’s lovely family, I hope you are all managing to cope at this very sad time in life.
I will always have wonderful memories of Val and I spending our childhood days playing on Georges and Wylam Roads. The summer days seemed to stretch out forever.
Yesterday, thinking of Val, I picked up a packet of Forget-me-not seeds. Today I planted them down by the stream. When I came in I decided to check this site (looked for the obituary many times after 10th April) and found this notice.
Val will always be in my heart Ian. She said so many lovely things about you and her family, she cared for you all so much.
