Malcolm gave me my first job and was my first boss. I worked as a cataloguer at Bassetlaw Museum 1986/87. He was always very kind to me, and when, a few years later, I was offered a job at Pearl Assurance and one of my jobs was to create a company museum and turned to Malcolm and he advised me. My father knew him through Parish Council work, and admired him too. Malcolm was a truly wonderful man. I will never forget him. Ruth Groome, formerly Newby, now living in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire.
