DON GALLOWAYDon Galloway, who died on 8 January, 2009, aged 71, was an American actor who appeared in several classic series.
His best known role was in the long-running detective series Ironside, playing the eponymous ex-cop's sidekick Detective Sergeant Ed Brown from the character's debut in the 1967 television filmto the end of the resulting series in 1975.
He also reprised the role in the 1993 reunion film The Return of Ironside.
Mr Galloway also appeared alongside Ironside starRaymound Burrin two Perry Mason films (1988 and 1990).
His othercredits included recurring roles in shows like The Virginian (1963 and 1966), CHiPs (1980) and Dallas (1990).
He also had parts in episodes of Wagon Train (1965), Charlie's Angels (1978), Fantasy Island (1980-1984), Knight Rider (1983 and 1985), MacGyver (1989 and 1991) and many more.
His films roles included parts in Westerns like The Rare Breed (1966) withJames Stewartand Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), Oscar-nominated yuppy film The Big Chill (1983) and thriller The Doom Generation (1995), his last acting role.
Don Galloway, from Brooksville, Kentucky, was born on 27 July, 1937, began acting in the early sixties as one of the main characters in early soap opera The Secret Storm.
After 30 years of acting he became a newspaper columnist for the Manchester Union Leader in New Hampshire, and was known for his liberal political views.
