Happy memories of following the clues to the treasure hunts he and Bill Ward devised. Somehow the destination was always a Pub!
My thoughts are with you, Joan, and your family.

I first met Bill in 1965. He was always a warm, friendly and decent man with a dry sense of humour. I hope Joan and the family will take some comfort from the kind thoughts and memories being sent by his ex-colleagues and friends at this sad time.
RIP Bill.
Warm wishes,
Brian & Jean Nield.

Joan, so very sorry to hear of your loss. Bill was an absolute gentleman and a true friend. I recall how he dealt with an accident I was involved in which resulted in a CID car being written off and my being taken to Hospital with head injuries. He showed true compassion and, with great integrity, traced and arrested the offending motorist who failed to stop. Sincere condolences to you and the family and friends, are thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

My thoughts and condolences on the loss of Bill. My prayers are with the Joan and the whole family. May God give them the strength to bear the loss and to be close as a family, it is the best way to move forwards.

I am proud to have worked with Bill on Macclesfield Traffic Unit, so long ago now, but many fond memories.

So many years have passed since we met as neighbours in Penrhyn Crescent and then Bill and I as colleagues on Traffic. Our condolences to the family and especially Joan.
