Paul JohnDUFFYThe Duffy family are sad to announce the passing of Paul John Duffy on Saturday the 20th January, peacefully, at Preston Royal Infirmary, aged 58. Beloved Son of Christina and the late Gerry Duffy, who were devoted to him. Much loved Brother to Eileen, Patrick, Liam, Mary, Ann, Gerald and Noel, Brother in law to Peter, Sheila, Janet, Charlie, Stephen, Jackie and Nicola. An uncle to 14 nieces and nephews and had extended family in Ireland and across the world. Paul lived most of his life in Park Road Accrington, where he was a familiar face around the neighbourhood. He attended Belmont school in Rawtenstall. Paul's passion was music, particularly Irish music and played many instruments. He loved his harmonica the most, and loved to play for his family and friends, along with singing and dancing. He also loved his arts and crafts. In recent years Paul lived at Stanley Grange near Preston where he was very happy and very well cared for by a fabulous team. Paul was loved by all of his family and will be sadly missed. A mass will take place at 9.45am on Thursday the 8th February, at St Joseph's Church, Belgarth Rd Accrington BB56AH followed by a service at Accrington Crematorium at 11am. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to Stanley Grange

I was born on the same street as Paul. He and my little brother Chris were the same age. I remember Paul coming on holiday with us when he was a baby and from then on he was a permanent fixture in our house. He would spend hours doing woodwork in the garage with my dad and was always on the lookout for a chat with my mum. Everyone in the Henry family (20 Park Road) sends love to you all.
