As my sister Kit's elder by just under 2 years, we were together under the umbrella of "Nannie's" care to much the same degree. I couldn't express better my own feelings than what she has written here. "Nan" was the constant in our young lives. With variable degrees of attention From our parents, ranging From total absence to emotional smothering,, Nan was the constant, the "nuts and bolts" of our childhood who fulfilled our everyday needs simply and kindly. No surprise That when she left the family fold in 2001, she remained very much in our hearts, on the end of our phones...and subject to fairly regular visits up to Rugby. She was loved, and we were in turn loved by her, as her own. We miss you Nan, and right know the sadness and tears that occasionally well up are tempered by enormous gratitude , And the realisation of how significant was your contribution to our lives. A "Godsend" no less...We knew this day was coming, But we thought that 8 years ago, when I originally travelled up to say goodbye to you but you bounced back and gave us all a bonus of extra time with you. Thankfully The love between us is timeless...
