Lovely memories of my cousin John . I was so pleased to be his and Edna's bridesmaid in Redcar all those years ago. After the funeral of my Paternal Grandmother I stayed with Aunt Audrey and as it was my birthday a trifle was made. John and Uncle Jack made a great joke of eating it all. One had a teaspoon and the other a large spoon and when I spoke to Jacqueline recently she told me that one of Johns last sentences was that he and Jack were under the stair cupboard eating a trifle. His Mum was famous for her trifles. Rest in Peace dear John. Love Denise xxx

We always lived a long way from each other, but John was always a welcome visitor to Hove and Devon and the most wonderful company, with Edna, for his “little brother” in Guisborough and Bottesford, where the hospitality was always in full flow. He was immensely proud of Sue and Ali and his grandchildren and thanks to John and Edna, they are the amazing people we know today.

Diana and I will miss John and our meetings at the house, on the boat and, latterly, in the van. Happy voyaging sums up John’s journey through life, so long Big E.

Just a short message to all the family, found John to be a great jovial guy all ways a smile and very easy to talk to.
Only knew him for a short while but all ways a pleasure to talk to him.
I know he will be sadly missed, I will raise a glass to him ❤

May I pass my condolences to John's family. Got to know John & Mrs E (Edna) when they used to come into my shop in Ashby. Always great to chat to, will certainly be missed by many. RIP
