I was so sad to hear that Stuart had died. He was a lovely, kind and gentle man. As near neighbours, we often enjoyed long chats, mainly about our gardening antics and Stuart generously shared his spare seedlings with me on many occasions. I will really miss him and, although I'm afraid I don't know them personally, I send my sincere condolences to all his family.

It was with great sadness that I was told of my old friend Stuart’s unexpected death. He had been a friend both to my self and late wife Avril for around 70 years.AS I am now disabled and unable to cycle with the club he ket me in touch with the cycling world either by email,or telephone or cycled out to see me.It was just a very short while ago he told me was going to his grand daughters wedding
Stuart was very knowledgeable about local history and Middlesbrough Football Club and had articles featured regularly in the local NOW and Then magazine..He was also a very good racing and touring cyclist and put a lot back into the sport he loved. How he managed to do running as well always amazed me.
I know he will be terribly missed by his loving family and all the Teeside cycling world.Because of my disability I will be unable to say good bye Stuart my son Neil willl represent our family.
God Bless
