I shall be forever indebted to Ron who as an active St John’s Ambulance volunteer saved my live when I was just 16 yrs of age and involved in a road traffic incident on my first motorbike. Fortunately for me, whilst waiting in his car at the road junction; Ron witnessed the whole incident and because of his training immediately applied a tourniquet to my leg which was bleeding profusely. Due to Ron’s swift action and subsequent surgery at Truro Hospital I am thankfully still alive 63 years later. I only hope that this tribute can express my enduring gratitude
