Richard GeorgeEMPSONPassed away on Friday 5th June 2026, after a long illness, aged 83 years.

Dick was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Dick began his teaching career at Dukeries Comprehensive, Ollerton, in 1964 when the school first opened, moving on in 1972 to spend the remainder of his career at Sconce Hills High School, Newark.
A dedicated public servant, Dick served as a District Councillor for Newark and Sherwood District Council and as Leader of the Parish Council for Edwinstowe. He also gave many years of service as Chair of Governors at King Edwin Primary School, Edwinstowe.

Funeral service to be held at All Saint's Church, Aston on Trent on Tuesday 11th August 2026 at 10.30am, followed by the committal at Trent Valley Crematorium, Aston on Trent.

Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Dick may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Society & Diabetes UK. These can be made online at www.georgesimnett.co.uk or given at the service.
