HerbertEMSLEYIt is with great sadness we announce that Herbert Emsley, aged 93 years, passed away peacefully on Friday July 22nd 2022 with his loving family by his side whilst in the tender care of Ashgrove Care Home, Cleethorpes. Beloved husband to Rhona, a wonderful dad to Robert and Ellen, a dear grandad, great-grandad, uncle, father-in-law, and good friend to many, he will be affectionately missed by all. Herbert will be fondly remembered for his contribution to, and achievements in, football, cricket and, in more recent years, bowls. One of Herbert's proudest achievements was winning the County Bowls Championship. A celebration of Herbert's life, will be held on Monday 15th August at 12.30pm in the Cleethorpes Cemetery Chapel, followed by burial in Cleethorpes Cemetery and afterwards at The Jug and Bottle, Holten-Le-Clay. Donations in Herbert's memory can be made payable to Ashgrove Residents Fund (sort code: 77-12-20, a/c. 32738960) for the purchase of garden furniture, celebrating his lifelong love of gardening.
