I met Charles only once, but that memory stays with me. He was simply a joy to meet, humorous, kind hearted and a lovely person - and very much loved.

The happy memories and stories told over the years by so many, paint a picture a wonderful person who loved life and stayed strong even in the face of adversity.

May you rest in peace Charles Esdaile.

I wish I had known the adventure loving young man, Charles Esdaile, before he was so cruelly afflicted by long term illness. In the time I did know him, he carried the burden of disability with dignity and courage, never once complaining about those things which he could no longer do. Charles was a heroic, sociable, humorous person who I was proud to call my brother-in-law.
