My other bit of Evans family memorabilia is Lesley's autograph from July 1968, our last day at Thomas Russell Junior School. I've had offers for it from collectors around the world but it's going nowhere - this is a keeper...😊

Sad news. In the 1970s I worked at the John Temple shop (men's clothes) in Burton High Street on Saturdays & school holidays and on Christmas Eve in 1973 the full-time staff spiked my Christmas drinks with vodka and howled with laughter as they watched me stagger out of the shop and head for home. I somehow found my way to the bus park, and was helped on to the right Midland Red bus where Mrs Evans found me sprawled on the back seat. She kindly helped me off at the bus stop in Barton and managed to get me safely home in Westmead Road. I'd probably still have been on the bus on Boxing Day if she hadn't taken pity on me. RIP Mrs E - and thanks. Condolences John, Lesley, Andrew and Dunc.
