I don't think that I'm wrong when I say that Auntie Betty truly was an incredible woman. She always brought so much energy and life into the room whenever she was around. I still can't quite believe that she's gone and things do feel a little greyer without her here. I owe this wonderful, amazing, woman a great deal and more than what I could ever really say.

When I think back on Swansea, it's bittersweet for me. With my time at the university there, well it was turbulent to say the least. However, that said, Auntie Betty truly did so much for me while I was there. I'm so glad that I had the wonderful opportunity to trek up that hill and spend some quality time with both her and Huw each week. Whether that be just enjoying the chance to spend some time and chat the hours away or being delightfully bombarded with various newspaper clippings on all things ancient history. Then upon arriving back, finding out that Auntie Betty had secretly stashed several madeleines in my bag whilst my back was turned. Auntie Betty was a rock during a hard time and I will never forget the unbelievable kindness that she showed towards me or the treasure trove of memories that she has left behind. I'll never forget any of that.

It hurts to have lost such a phenomenal woman who persistently did her best to raise up everyone around her. It truly is hard to not feel the hole that she has left behind. In my eyes, she was the epitome of a good person and what we should all aspire to be like.

Thank you for everything. I hope that you knew that you were loved and that you're being missed. I hope that you knew about the smiles that you would bring whenever your name was brought up and how sweet the memories are that would flow soon afterwards. I hope that you know that I can't help but think of you every time I come across a simple madeleine. I hope that you know that I miss you and will always continue to do so.
