Alfred DouglasEVANSOf Woodhead Close, Waterfoot passed away at
Abbeycroft Nursing Home on November 27th, aged 90.

In his younger years Alfred was a painter and decorator,
he then went into textile/cotton industry as a manager at
Whiteheads in Rawtenstalll.
He also worked at various mills in the area.
Alfred and his late wife Edith ran The Jewellery and Baby Clothes stall in
Rawtenstall Market for over 40 years.

He played the organ, enjoyed wildlife and travelling around in his
motorhome.

Husband to the late Edith, Afred leaves behind his sons David,
late Matt, Danny and John, daughter-in-law Angela.
Grandchildren Anna, Oliver, Claire, Nathaniel, Katie, Chay,
Niall and Joel, great grandchildren and his two
brothers Roger and Barry and extended family.

Service will be held at James Street Chapel of
Rest at 1pm on Wednesday, December 11th, followed by interment
at Bacup Cemetery at 2pm.

Family flowers only, donations to Kidney Research UK.

A wonderful neighbour and friend who is missed enormously. Such a kind, funny gentle man. The only saving grace is that he is now with his dear Edith. Rest now Fred.
