StanleyFAGANStan passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, aged 76 years on April 3 and of Clayton-le-Moors.
The devoted husband and best friend of Rosemary, a loved and loving dad, grandad, great-grandad, brother, relative and friend.
Born in Barrow-InFurness, Stan began his working life on a farm before training to be a metal spinner.
Fit and strong, Stan excelled in Martial Arts and he loved to pass on his vast knowledge of his discipline to his Martial Art students. He enjoyed fly fishing and sea fishing and he loved nothing more than escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life to enjoy some tranquil time at the waters edge, he had an affinity with Ireland and he was so proud when he purchased a second home on the Emerald Isle. Stan enjoyed dancing and rock and roll was a firm favourite and for many years he ran the King Street Club in Accrington, becoming a well known and loved face in the local community. In his later years, Stan found a love for crown green bowling and he always looked forward to meeting up with his mates for a game of bowls at Milnshaw Park Bowling Club. Most of all Stan was the most doting family man and loyal friend, he would help anyone in need and he had a heart of gold and loved nothing more than a good laugh and a joke.
Stan will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Stan’s funeral will be held at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA on Tuesday, April 23 at 1.40pm.
