DerekFAIRCLOUGHof Woodlands Home, Clayton-le-Moors, formerly of Lion Street, Church, passed away on Monday, February 10 at Woodlands Care Home, aged 87. Derek worked at Brooke Bond OXO, Great Harwood from 1976 to 1993, worked various jobs in Australia between 1967 and 1976 and was a mule spinner at mills around Accrington from 1950 to 1966. He enjoyed many years playing snooker at the Tanpits Club in Church until it closed down. He loved music and singing, enjoyed walking and loved being in the garden on warm days. Father of Jackie, Tina and Dale, grandfather of Laura and greatgrandfather of Alfie, Lilly and Owen. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27, at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium. No flowers please, but donations if desired to Huntington's Disease Society. Funeral director: Kirby & Hughes.
