Deryck JamesFAIRHURSTIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deryck James Fairhurst at Chester on 15th July 2018 aged 93. Deryck was born in Dublin, Ireland 4th June 1925 and is best remembered by many for his contribution to the D-Day and Normandy Campaigns with the Irish Guards in 1944 - actions that were rewarded with the presentation of the Legion D'honneur by the President of France in 2015. He will also be remembered for his dedicated service to The Post Office where he worked for over forty years. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters Janet and Catherine, his son Derek, his six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Requiem Mass will take place at St Werburgh's Catholic Church on Tuesday 7th August 2018 at 12.00 noon followed by committal at Chester Crematorium. For further details contact Dutton & Hallmark.
