I really don’t know what to say, still in shock at the passing of Val. I was relying on her to make sure I was treated well in whatever residential home I end up in, I was so sure she’d outlive all of her peers. A very big loss as a friend, but I feel for her family, it’s not easy when the matriarch moves on. You’re all forever in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear of your passing, Val. I will always cherish the memories of the years we all worked together and the many special occasions we all shared. Over the years, our lives went separate ways, and we only rarely got to speak. However, when we did, it was like the years fell away, and we carried on where we left off. To my inspirational, beautiful Val, so full of love and compassion. Lots of Love, Maureen Gavin ( Mrs G) and family x x x With love and deepest sympathy to your family.

Val, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear you are no longer with us, I always thought you would be one that would go on forever. Your family, your dogs, your friends and anyone that has been part of your life including myself are truly going to miss you always.
We met outside the school gates when the kids were little 40 years ago and remained the best of friends. You were a genuine true friend which is very rare and when we moved almost 300 miles away several years later, to be back closer to my family, I knew that sadly we weren’t going to see each other very often but we have always stayed in touch. At this time of year I would already be looking forward to receiving your Christmas card very early December because I just knew it would have a long letter with it giving me all your family news and telling me about all the antics over the last 12 months. I always told you you should write a book about all the goings on as the letters were amazing, they always made me smile and even laugh out loud sometimes, Tim enjoyed them too (say hi to him up there please).
You were so hard-working right up until the end but always had time for all the people mentioned above and anyone else that just needed some help. We visited Newquay a few times and once again you found the time to see us which we loved, so thank you for that.
I am thinking about the boys and the grandkids and sending them my love.
I will never forget you Val and will sign off on in my usual way. Love & Hugs always, Wendy 💌 xx
