OliveFARRELLPassed away peacefully at Woodlands Home for Older People on Monday, October 31, aged 85. Olive, the wife of the late Thomas Farrell and mother to the late Catherine, leaves behind her much-loved children, Gerard, Paddy, Raymond, Jason, Samantha, Gary, and Joanne. She was also a much loved nanna, great nanna, sister, auntie, mother-in-law, and will be sadly missed by all of her family members and friends. Olive was born in Drogheda, Co Louth, Ireland and was one of nine daughters to Elizabeth (Lil) and Patrick (Pat) Finglas. Olive moved to England where she met her late husband Thomas, where they raised their family together in Accrington. Olive was a devout catholic and was parishioner at St Anne’s Church in Accrington for over 50 years. She had many part-time jobs to support her family and spent some of her spare time volunteering for charities in the Accrington area. Olive loved to go back home to Ireland to see her family when she could and in her free time she enjoyed dancing, watching TV soaps, socializing with friends in town and caring for her family. Olive also enjoyed looking around car boot sales searching for a bargain. A Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, November 14 at St Anne’s Church, Cobham Road, Accrington conducted by FR. Francis Wadsworth at 11am, prior to a cremation service at Accrington Crematorium at 12.20pm. Olive requested no flowers please, however donations if desired in loving memory of Olive will be collected and sent to the British Heart Foundation and Dementia UK on her behalf.
