IrisFAWCETTMrs Iris Fawcett, of Commercial Street, Loveclough, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 4, aged 88. Born in Wales, Iris moved to Rossendale at 18 years old. She started working life in Lancashire in the NAAFI where she met her husband. She then worked at Starline, Ashworth and Hoyle and Winfields, and after retirement worked at McDonald’s in Rising Bridge, and Alder Grange School. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening. She was also a member of The CPA Social Club. Wife of the late James Arthur, she leaves daughters Yvonne, Linda and Gail, and sons James and Nigel. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, brothers Alan and John, together with sister Joyce, nephew, nieces and cousins. A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 16, with prayers at the Chapel at 12noon administered by Rev. Denise Smith, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 1pm. Following the service everyone is welcome to the CPA Social Club in Loveclough. Family flowers only please, however any donations requested to Age Concern.
