Kevin and I have known Carol and Ernest since 1971. Ernest was a true gentleman and a lot of fun to be around. We made lots of lovely memories together- visiting the Boxing Day hunt in Denbigh with Lilian and Ron each year, celebrating the Millennium in the O2 dome together with Mark in London, attending the National Teaching Awards together in London...to name just a few.
May you rest in peace and you will always be in our thoughts.
We all send our love to Carol.

Carol, we are so sorry to hear this news. We had such great respect for Ernest as a lovely man and a thorough going churchman. From the first time I met him in StThomas Church 25 years ago until recent contacts at the cathedral it was always a joy to be with him. May he find the rest he so richly deserves. Take care of yourself. With love, Bernard and Jennifer

Ernest, I have to say what a very beautiful but sad send off Carol your family & friends gave you today they did you so proud the service was conducted with so much love and admiration for you.
Carol was so strong for you today putting together the send off you so deserved.
It was evident seeing both the Cathedral and the Crematorium packed to standing just how many people’s lives you touched and how much you were thought of.
I hold fond memories of you and your genuinely kind, caring and considerate nature always thinking of other and I know you will be watching over Carol as you always did so lovingly
It was a privilege knowing you
Rest easy Ernest goodnight
God bless
