AdrienneFLANAGANPassed away peacefully, aged 95 on October 24, surrounded by family. Formerly of Accrington and Clayton-le-Moors.
Adrienne was a devoted wife to the late Tom, dear sister to Joan, beloved mum of Heather, Lindsay, and the late Vivienne, cherished grandma to Rachel, Jenni, Abigail, Richard, and Eugene, and wonderful great-grandma to Lucas, Lola, Oscar, Jaya, Jasmine, and Jax.
Adrienne retired in 1985 from her role as a medical records clerk at Accrington Victoria Hospital to care for her husband. Avid cricket fans, Adrienne and Tom served as Steward and Stewardess at Enfield Cricket Club in the late 70s and early 80s, and remained dedicated spectators in the years that followed. Adrienne was artistic and creative, joining numerous groups and running activities for local “older folk” (who were often younger than her!). A born organiser, she was impeccably presented and never left home without immaculate nails, makeup, hair, and jewellery. Adrienne was extremely proud of her family, finding immense joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, Adrienne lived with her daughter Heather and later at Hope House Nursing Home in Clayton-le-Moors, where she left a lasting impression on staff and residents for her strong mind (especially when it came to her lunches!).
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in Adriennes’s memory on behalf of Cancer Research and Enfield Youth Cricket. Please send donations to the funeral director alternatively a donation box will be available at the funeral service.
Adrienne’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium, on Monday, November 6 at 3pm.
