SheldonFLANIGHAN(Amble) Tragically on 1st April. 'A dearly loved father to Calvin and Joe, a beloved son to Eleanor and Brian, and an adored brother to Julia and Sharon. Sheldon came with a character larger than life, a smile and laughter that lit up the room and a heart that saw the good in everyone. This personality endeared Sheldon to our family, his ambulance service colleagues, the golfing community and his life-long friends from Northumberland and the wider North East. His devotion to his sons, his close family and life-long friends, together with his total commitment and duty to the North East Ambulance service, strongly reflects the dedicated father and whole-hearted community man that Sheldon was. For those who knew Sheldon, it feels impossible to imagine life without him. We are all united in mourning. Sheldon touched the lives of many, once met, never forgotten and we are richer for knowing him. His legacy will live on through us all.' Funeral service to be held at St. Cuthberts Church, Church Street, Amble on Friday 26th May at 10.30 am. Followed by private interment. Friends please meet at church. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Dementia UK & The Great North Air Ambulance. Afterwards at The Bede Street Club. Enquiries c/o John Grenfell & Son Funeral Directors, Bedlington. My deepest sympathies and condolences go to Sheldon’s family at this very difficult time. I understand he was such a wonderful person. I hadn’t seen him for many years. Our Dads were cousins and I left Warkworth when I went to university. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this very difficult time. Love Heidi (nee Flanighan).

Dear Sheldon, It was a pleasure to meet you and having Archer (Holly’s son) in our lives is one of the best things. We miss the what’s app chats with you about the puppies and Holly and Ruby.
