AlanFORDTHE family of Alan Ford, of Marple, Stockport, Cheshire, are very sad to announce that Alan passed away in hospital on March 13, 2021, at the age of 83, after bravely battling multiple sclerosis for more than 40 years. Alan sadly leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Julia, cherished daughters Caroline, Katherine and Laura, treasured grandchildren Joseph, Martha, Julius and Grace and much loved sister Mary. He was also a beloved father-In-law, uncle, great uncle and dear friend to many. Born in Stockport, Alan was a Bank Manager at the TSB in Handforth and later at Houldsworth Square, Reddish, until he retired in 1989. He was also a passionate Manchester City fan, a Golf Captain at Mirrlees Golf Club in Hazel Grove and a devoted family man. Alan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral will take place at The Rowan Chapel, Stockport Crematorium, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 3.15pm. A memorial to celebrate Alan's life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of Alan to the MS Society. A live webcast will be shown and log-in details are available from the family. Further enquiries to George Ball & Son, Stockport. Tel: 0161 432 2131.

Alan, you were the best Grandad and friend.
You meant so much to those who knew and loved you.
Thanks for being my one fellow city fan. You shared my passion for sport and you were the kindest, most patient person I know.

You will be missed deeply, Julius💙
