Really a shock for Tracie and I to hear this sad news. David was such a lovely man and we first met him in Perth where he was on vacation with his niece Jackie and her husband Jason. We had last seen him in the UK in 2017 and he looked the picture of health and was as happy as anybody and seemed to be one of those people who would live forever. He obviously didn't but in one sense he lived his life fully and left no stone unturned and got the most out of his life. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences we send to all of David's family at this sad time but we celebrate those happy time and memories we have of him. In our minds he has that cheeky grin and we do keep all the memories, RIP David we were blessed to be a small part of your life, your memory lives on....David & Tracie Bate, Perth, WA

Very sad news indeed!
We first met Dave ( Dad) back in 1977 when on holiday in the Dominican Republic, and together with John Fearon we soon became an inseparable group. Many diving holidays and travels together showed what a gentle, humble and generous man Dave was.
I will miss his cheeky smile !
I would not be here today had it not been for his generosity. When I first started my business, Dad lent me quite a sum of money, with no questions of how and when I was going to pay it back. It was “how much do you want, son?” You don’t often meet people like that.
What a man, what a gentleman!
Our thoughts to his children, we have a little idea of what you have lost.
Rest in Peace 🙏
