NeilFOXMr Neil Fox, of Bold Street, Accrington, died on Friday, December 18, aged 87. Neil spent most of his working life as an automobile mechanic, and many years as manager of a team at Securicor, until he was made redundant at age 60. Until retirement, he enjoyed being breakfast cook at Moorland School in Clitheroe. Neil was a big family man and loved spending time with his children, and then his grandchildren. His support was immeasurable. In later years he became a member of, and a keen fundraiser for, Guide Dogs, having Elsie as his own Guide Dog for a number of years. He also became a member of Blind Veterans. He liked to be active in local issues. He was also a lifelong member of St Anne’s RC Church, Accrington, along with his late wife Susan. Neil was widower of Susan, and leaves children Chris, Joanne and Caroline, grandchildren Oliver, Daniel, David and Ben, and great-grandchildren Will, Charlie, Kitty, William, Lyra, Lacey and Scarlett. Requiem Mass was held on Thursday, December 31, at St Anne’s Church, led by Rev Simon Stamp, followed by cremation at Accrington. Donations requested for Guide Dogs For the Blind and Blind Veterans c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
