RobertFRANCIS-DAVIESSadly fell asleep on 8th May 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Suzanne, loving father of Rebecca, Andrew and his step-children Matthew and Rachel, cherished Papa to all his grandchildren.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew, loved and respected him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday 27th May 2026 at St. Mary's Minster Church, City Centre at 1:00pm.

Following the service refreshments will be held at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Shocked and saddened by this news. Rob did so much good with his life and I know his legacy will live on. I'm sure his friends at Swansea Council will ensure this will happen. My thoughts are with his family and close friends at this sad time.

I had the privilege of working with Robert during his time as Deputy Lord Mayor and Lord Mayor he was a true gentleman and very proud at being the first citizen of his City and County of Swansea. I would have loved to attend the service at St Mary’s on Wednesday but I’m not enjoying the best of health at the moment. Thanks Robert for the wonderful memories. RIP

Rob and I joined Swansea Council in 1983, along with his brother John. Rob was a good friend and often picked me up to go to events. When it came time to choose a Lord Mayor Rob, John and I had to pick out our names from a hat. John came first, then Robert and then me. I became Rob’s Deputy Lord Mayor. He was very supportive. Rob will be sadly missed. A great loss to Swansea. My thoughts are with Suzanne and family.

Robert and I met in the early 60`s and became close friends and colleagues. We had our ups and downs but thankfully remained good friends. I am devastated . God bless you Rob. Michael Benson
