GAILEYAfter a long illness and many years of care at home by his wife Jessie, Ian died peacefully in Castle Douglas Hospital, on Thursday 25th September 2008. Ian will be remembered by some as the Head of J & P Coats Research Laboratory, which he led for many years and as a distinguished President of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, whose Gold Medal he was awarded. Ian will be missed by Jessie and their daughter Shona. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Wednesday 1st October at Urr Parish Church, at 12.45 p.m. and Roucan Loch Crematorium, Dumfries at 2 p.m. No flowers please.
