Christina (Tina)GALLAGHERTina died peacefully after a recent illness at home in Birmingham. Very much loved and missed by Peter and their son Jack, sister Denise and both families. A life lived in full and as a Teacher, Trade Unionist, Socialist and mostly a wonderful caring human trying to right wrongs and help others. Funeral to be 12:30 at Robin Hood Crematorium 30th July followed by a celebration of life at The Prince of Wales, Moseley. Flowers: Family and close friends only please. Donations to Birmingham Hospice please.

I was Tina's Head of English for years in Sandwell, and, I hope, a friend. She had strong political views, many of which I shared. She was friendly and outgoing, and had a strong sense of social responsibility combined with a well-developed wry sense of humour. I am saddened by her death at what nowadays is a relatively young age.
