VeraGARRITYOur hearts are broken to announce the passing of Vera Garrity. Vera passed away peacefully 14th January 2025, aged 93, surrounded by her loving family and those who cared for her so well in the final years of her life.
Vera was the matriarch of her family. Devoted mother to Pauline and her son-in-law John. The most kind and caring nan to her six granddaughters who loved and adored her and to her six grandsons-in-law who she loved to keep in check. Vera loved nothing more than spending time with her fourteen great-grandchildren who all hold a special place for their Ninny in their hearts.

We will never forget her quick wit, the songs, the stories, her love of Liverpool FC and Benidorm but most of all we will never forget those twinkly eyes and that strong, fierce character. Now reunited with her mom and her siblings who she loved so much. Sleep peacefully, you will be missed.

🕊️🤍forever in our hearts🤍🕊️

Funeral service will be held on Friday 14th February at St Teresa’s Church, Norris Green, 11:30am followed by the committal at Anfield Crematorium.

You are all welcome to join us in celebrating her life at West Derby Golf Clubhouse from 1.30pm.

Family flowers only please. If you would like to donate, please use the link below to donate to Alzheimer’s Society. A charity close to our hearts.

Thank you.

So sad to hear of Auntie Vera’s passing. Fond childhood memories of fun times with Auntie Vera and Pauline in Liverpool. Also enjoyed her visits to our house in Coventry. Lots of love from Denise xxx

This has been hard to write Vera has been part of my life for 50 years. When I met Vera we instantly got on so well, she basically spoilt me soft, me being a red helped as they were big fans as well. Vera even managed to get me a season ticket which, wow just incredible. Vera even put money away to pay for it each season.
She did do things that would crack me up like when Pauline and I went on holiday only to come home and the outside of our house had been painted a different colour, we went past it in a taxi coming home. Or when she used to rearrange the furniture and ornaments in our house to suit herself.
Vera had a heart of gold, loved her grandchildren always spoiling them with crisps and sweets.
I will miss you V you had a heart of gold, hope your having a big party upstairs with your family, but don’t be moving gods furniture around or painting heavens gate.
Love you Vera
Love John, your best son in law xx

My lovely aunty Vera, what a beautiful soul she was, she will be missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her.
I have such fond memories of an incredibly warm and kind aunty who cared for others and who was always full of fun, just the thought of her makes me smile. With an incredible zest for life she could light up any room and I know she will be so missed by Pauline, John and their wonderful family.
The last of the Clayton clan and the end of an era, rest in peace my wonderful aunty Vera ❤️

Vera, what a woman you were, you gave your all to everyone. There wasn't a single person who would leave you without a bag of goodies. I used to love having you over for the night, even if you did walk in on me in the shower, or the way you used to chew my ear off in the car and tell me off when I went over the bumps. Vera, you were an extra Nan to me, I'm so grateful for all the lovely times we had together and that I had someone to share my trainees with! There will never be another woman like you in the world, but you definitely left abit of yourself in your daughter and grand daughters x x

My lovely auntie Vera. I have lots of wonderful memories of you most of all our wonderful summers I spent with you and Pauline in Cornwall. You always looked so smart and you loved the sun. I am so sorry I can’t be with you on Friday to say goodbye my love and thoughts will be with you and all the family. Sleep tight and have a big party when you’re back with the rest of the family. Love you lots Rita.

Lovely Vera. Thou i mostly call you mama and most of our colleagues always call you my mama because they know I don’t joke with you🥰 I knew you for a short time of your life but it was lovely to know you, I love how brave you are and how your family members show you love you must have given so much love to receive such in return, you have that beautiful laugh that is still echoing in my head, when I was pregnant nobody know then but you knew and told me to take care of myself and the baby inside me I still keep remembering that statement and was wondering how you knew about it. I want you to know I’m doing that and I told you in your last days my baby is 1 year old now I know your subconscious mind heard me. I miss you so much miss making your hair. Continue to rest in peace 🥰
