ValerieGIDLEYIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valerie Gidley (nee Egan). Valerie passed away peacefully in hospital after a short illness surrounded by her family on 15th January 2023, aged 83. A devoted wife to Alfred for 57 years, loving mother and mother-in-law to Karen, Brian, Mike, and Janet, and a much-loved grandmother to Matthew, Rebecca, Jacob, Emily, and partners. She will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew her love, strength, spirit, generosity, and sense of humour. Her funeral will take place at The Parish Church of St. Stephen in the Banks, Southport, PR9 8ES on Tuesday 28th February 2023 at 2:30pm. A committal will follow at West Lancashire Crematorium, Pippin Street, Ormskirk, L40 7SP at 4.00pm. A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at Rufford Arms Restaurant and Hotel, Rufford, Ormskirk, L40 1SQ. Family flowers only please.
