Professor PaulGILBERTPassed away at Hull Royal Infirmary on Sunday 2nd January 2022 aged 79 years. Beloved Husband of Daphne, a much loved Father of Ben, Hester, Matthew and Emily. A dearly loved Grandpa of Elisabeth, James, Tom, Eleanor, Eliza, Isobel, William, Isaac and Seth. Funeral service to be held at Beverley Minster on Friday 21st January at 12.30pm followed by private committal. Family flowers only please. I have known Paul since 1969, when I joined the Philosophy Department at Hull. We became friends - he was at our wedding in 1983 - and we have kept in touch ever since, especially during the two periods (the latest since 2014) when Sue and I have lived in Beverley. I wish I had made more effort to see him more often in recent years.

We send our sympathy to his family. We share their sadness.
