DaveGILDINGThe Fireman's Prayer When I am called to duty God, wherever flames may rage. Give me the strength to save some life, whatever be it's age. Help me embrace a little child, before it is too late. Or save some older person from the horror of that fate. Enable me to be alert and to hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbour and protect his property. And if according to my fate I have to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife. In memory of fireman Dave Gilding Rest in Peace From all at Central Fire Station

There are many words I can use to describe Dave Gilding - professional, devoted, loyal, dear friend, mentor and exceptional human being who touched the lives of so many, not least me. Dave epitomised the very word which I reserve for very few people - Fireman. Rest in peace Dave and thank you so much for your inspiration during my time in the Brigade.

To my best friend and husband, no measure of time would ever have been long enough with you so forever would still not have been enough.

I touched your tears with my lips, you touched my world with your fingertips.

This world had only one sweet moment set aside for us.

Loving you always your "heather" xxxx
