JackGILLIBRAND9th August 1930 - 23rd April 2023 (aged 92) Jack: Eldest and only Son of Percy & Sarah Gillibrand, Brother to Enid and Ann, husband, dad, brother, grandad, great-grandad, uncle, great-uncle, godfather, friend and colleague. After various illnesses, Jack passed away peacefully in the place he was born on St George's Day: North Manchester General Hospital (Crumpsall). Mancunian through and through. Funeral arrangements: Service at St Leonard's Parish Church, Middleton, on Thursday 8th June, 10.45am, all welcome. Short family service at Boarshaw Crematorium. Celebration of Jack's life at Middleton Cricket Club from 12:30 lunchtime. Join us if you can. Please wear something City (sky) blue. Family flowers only. Donations toward training kit for Middleton Cricket Club. Jack worked at ICI Blackley for his whole career as a textile technologist, with many friends and colleagues with whom he shared work and fun times. He lived his childhood in Blackley and then in Middleton with his wife Pat and their 4 children: John, Mike, Jane and Simon. He and Pat went on to enjoy a large family of 8 grandchildren: Joanne, James, Beth, Jack, Lucy, Jacob, Lydia, Darci, and 5 great-grandchildren, Niamh, Emilia, Olive, Arthur and Etta. Jack had two main loves outside his family and friends: Middleton Cricket Club and Manchester City FC. Jack was a cup half full person, always positive, always optimistic. We wish to thank the team at Bluebird Care who looked after dad and mum for over five years, enabling him to live his final years at home which was what he wanted. We also wish to thank the care teams at Oldham Royal and North Manchester Hospitals - in particular the doctors and staff at ward J3 who cared for him with such kindness and respect. Rest in peace Jack- you were dearly loved by many and we felt your love in return. All enquiries to. S.Wellens & Sons, Tel; 0161.643.2677

To our lovely, jolly Jack, what a pleasure it was to know you. Your sense of humour and wit would light up any room you were in. Family get togethers won’t quite be the same, but you will be having a ball up there that is for sure. Lots of love from the Halais xoxo
