WilliamGIRVANPeacefully at home on 23rd December, William "Bill" Girvan of Pattle Place, Alloway, aged 96. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Lindie.
Born and raised in Girvan, one of six children to William senior and Edith. After leaving Girvan Academy and completing national service with the RAF in Africa, Bill ran a business in Girvan with his brother before moving into a long and successful career in insurance across the UK.
Bill was a keen golfer and hill walker, and loved to travel on great holidays with Nancy. He retired to Ayr in the early 1990s where he and Nancy enjoyed life back near their home town and village. His marriage to Nancy, from Pinmore, was long and happy until her death in 2015.
Bill had suffered poorer health over the last couple of years and died at home after a short period of illness.
The family would like to ask anyone who knew Bill to join them his funeral service at Masonhill Crematorium, Ayr, on 20th January at 1:15pm.
