MarieGLANNANMarie Glannan formerly Stuart, passed away peacefully in Springhill Care Home, Accrington, on Monday, January 4, aged 91. In her younger years, Marie attended Paddock House Convent Grammar School, and was a familiar face around Oswaldtwistle, as during her working life she was a teacher at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School for many years. She was also a very active member of St Mary’s Parish, in particular with the St Mary’s Ladies Group and Choir. She also enjoyed travelling, reading, art, singing, and spending time with her family. Marie was the dearly loved wife of the late Thomas and she sadly leaves behind her much loved children, Catherine, Marie and Philip, her dear sons-in-law Michael and Sean, her dear daughter-in-law Rachael, her treasured grandchildren David and his wife Rebecca, Stephanie, Sarah, Paul, Ferne, Anja and Darcy, also a loving great-grandma of Riley and Eadie. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 13, at 10.30am at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, for family and close friends only due to the current restrictions, prior to interment at Dill Hall Cemetery. Special thanks also go to Springhill Care Home staff for their care. Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed for St Mary’s Catholic Church, Oswaldtwistle, and may be made by phone, by post, or by envelope drop off at the funeral home (Accrington or Oswaldtwistle). Funeral director: Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, Oswaldtwistle.
