Peter George ValentineGODSIFFAged 81. Passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, in the early hours of Wednesday, 28th of August 2019. As a journalist, Peter, started his career at The Bournemouth Times and Poole and Dorset Herald before moving to The Bristol Evening Post where he reported on Bristol City for more than 20 years before becoming the newspaper's sports editor. After leaving the newspaper, he mixed his passion for playing golf with reporting on the sport and was the editor of Golf West, West Country Golf News and South West Golfer. Among his many achievements he also wrote a book, Bristol City - The Complete History of the Club, in 1982. An ever loving and devoted husband to Margaret; a wonderful dad to Nick, Ian and Anna; a caring big brother to Angela and a wonderful grandad to Gina, Michael, Tasha, Olivia and Rosie, he will be sorely missed. His family invite you to join them in a celebration of his life at 10.00 am on Monday, 9th September 2019 at St Andrew's Church, Chew Magna, Nr Bristol, BS40 8SU.
