James WilliamGRAYSON(Durham formerly South Shields) Suddenly at home on 25th January 2021 aged 68 years. Beloved son of the late James and Elizabeth, also dearest partner of the late Mellannie. Brother of Ian, brother-in-law of Ruth, much loved uncle of Elaine, Paula, Theo and Willow. Funeral service at St Bedes RC Church South Shields on 16th February at 11:45am, followed by interment at Harton Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to The British Heart Foundation. I've known Jim since 1970 and spent many happy times cycling and fellwalking around Northumberland. It was great to meet up with him again a few years ago and to have regular "meetings" in the town with Dave Robertson and John Slattery. He is greatly missed.

I worked with Jim in the 1970's. There followed 50 years of friendship and shared interests including walking in the countryside with him, Ian Leonard and Dave Robertson. We met regularly in the Toon for a meal and a drink.
Honest, decent and with a great sense of humour, you couldn't ask for more in a friend!

Sad to lose such a good friend and nice guy. Glad we met up again after losing touch for a while. We will miss our regular trips to the lakes and our meeting up in Newcastle for beer and Scran with Ian Leonard, John Slattery and Kelly Scott.
