Sue died peacefully on 10 October 2026 with her son, Steven, holding her hand.
She was a wonderful and loving woman who was fiercely devoted to her family and friends.
Sue was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Daphne. Her husband Geoff, whom she met when working at British Rail, was the love of her life. He predeceased her in 2015 after 45 years of marriage. Towards the end of her days, she spoke often of her desire to be reunited with him. She will be deeply missed by her son Steven (Joy), brother-in-law Norman (Daphne - predeceased), nieces Beverley and Amanda (Neil), great-nephew Nathan (Kerri) and great-niece Sophie.
Sue incurred many unexpected losses in her life including the deaths of her baby daughters, Joanne and Sarah, who lived only a brief time. She was also very close to her sister Daphne who died in 2018.
Sue was blessed to have a number of close friends, several of whom she travelled with. Her absence will be deeply felt by each of them.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sue's life on 28th of October, 11am, at Markeaton Crematorium Main Chapel with a wake immediately following at The Great Northern, Station Road, Mickleover.
