Sorry I was unable to attend Uncle Tom's funeral. I have fond memories of Uncle Tom returning home from the war and spending time with me as a child. A kind and thoughtful man who will be sadly missed by everyone. My thoughts are with Betty and the family.

Grandad I've struggled to write this because I don't want it to be true, that you've left us now. We spent so much time together for so long, until we couldn't. I'll be forever grateful for all of the memories, life lessons, jokes and stories we shared over endless cups of tea, with you always chomping away at your biscuits or sweets. The awkwardness of cooking your meals because you became such a fuss pot, eating your legendary cakes and then you sharing all of your recipes with me telling me exactly how they had to be, these memories I'll cherish forever and especially, hearing your never-ending supply of Laurel and Hardy bedtime stories as kids. The ache in my heart is too big at not getting to hold your hand, or kiss you cheerio one more time Pops. I love you dearly and I'll miss you always! Enjoy this final rest, you've earned it. ❤ xx
