The obituary notice of Harold John GRIFFITHS

I first met Harold at Rolls Royce in 1977. He ran the Design Clerical Dept with a small team on 'B2' wing at Moor Lane and was well known to hundreds of workers and always seemed very helpful. I remember Harold also being a Littlewoods Pools rep and collected coupons and monies from his work colleagues every week. He would also ask me, every Friday lunch time, to help him total up all the cash and coupons as Harold was not too good on the new calculators of the day. We also still had half pennies in the 70's/80's to add up and definitely no fancy computers or mobile phones. He always had plenty of change if you wanted a coffee from the vending machine. Harold lived in Borrowash and I think he retired from RR around 1990 and had a long retirement. I also remember Harold was married to the late Jean. Wishing you good luck on your next journey Harold.
