I’m proud to have enjoyed a number of years with Brian whilst bellringing in Essex. Brian was a regular at Galleywood and rang Monday evenings for practices, Saturday weddings and Sunday services. I always had a great member of the band in Brian, after practice, it was always to the Running Mare and his ‘Angus and bitters’ (to this day whenever I hear of this being ordered I think of Brian) his great sense of humour, his very positive approach and inquisitive mind and stories of him telling obese patients to cut out junk food and in his words “I’d tell them to cut out all the fatty foods and then I’d go and order a burger and chips for lunch, with a grin and a smile” ..but above all, Brian’s joy in being a bellringer and Carole a wonderful wife and thank you for both your time with me in Essex, in Galleywood. Brian will be fondly fondly remembered and I’ve just heard of his passing. My thoughts to all the family. Simon Poyser
