KathleenHALLIWELLMRS Kathleen Halliwell née Starkie, previously of Ormerod Street, Accrington, passed away at Dove Court Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 7, aged 85. Kathleen worked in administration at Woolworths for 10 years, Associated Dairies for 10-15 years and Howard & Bulloughs, which became Platt Saco Lowell, for 15 years. She then worked as an Asda checkout operator for two to three years, before retiring at 60. She used to visit Platts Social Club on Blackburn Road every week with her late husband Vincent and was a member of New Lane Baptist Church. Kathleen enjoyed listening to music, socialising and knitting, in particular jumpers for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking and going on coach holidays. Mother to late daughter Denise and greatgrandmother to the late Annabella, she leaves son Stephen, sister Sandra, grandchildren Rebecca, Christopher, Nicola, Michael and Jessica, great-grandchildren William-Jack, DominicJohn, Joseph, Martha, Ayrton and their respective families. The funeral will be held at New Lane Baptist Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Wednesday, August 28, at 1.30pm, followed by interment in the church yard. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Dove Court. Funeral director: Kirby & Hughes.
