Luke Richard JohnHAMILTONSadly passed away on 23rd August 2024, aged 39 years.

A devoted husband to Nicola, a fun, loving dad to William and Eleanor, and treasured son to Trish and Keith.

Luke grew up with his parents Trish and Keith, and his sister Nyree, and met Nicola in October 2000, when he was 16. Luke and Nicola spent almost all of their time together and were inseparable. Once Luke could drive, they would often visit new places on day trips and weekends away – some of these shared with their niece Mya when she was young.

In 2008, on the day they had been together for 8 years, they married at the Riverside Hotel in Branston. They started a family in 2010 when William was born, followed by Eleanor almost 5 years later.

Luke loved to spend time with his family and would often suggest a last minute walk, day out or trip to the cinema, as he preferred to be spontaneous rather than plan ahead, which made everything more exciting.
All his family and in-laws would tell you, Luke was a lot of fun and you would struggle to find a more fun, relaxed person than him.

He would always tell his wife Nicola and his children how much he loved them and how proud he was of all their achievements, big or small.
He was a very dedicated family man who also enjoyed exercising, either in his home gym or going for a run in Stretton where he lived.

Recently, Luke and his family completed the Hadrian’s Wall walk for Luke’s upcoming 40th Birthday, all 84 miles (or actually, 105 miles as they found out, with getting to and from accommodation). This was something he said was always on his ’Bucket List’ and he was so happy he had chance to do this with his family.
Luke being who he was found this a doddle, while most of the rest of his family saw it as more of a completed challenge – although everyone enjoyed this time together and shared lots of laughs along the way.

Luke worked as a Draughtman, a job he trained in when he left school and will be missed by his colleagues at Swindale Associates, where he worked for the last 15 years.

Taken far too young, he will be missed endlessly by his family and friends.

Funeral Monday 30th September, service 10:30am in the Cedar Room at Bretby Crematorium. Black need not be worn.

Family flowers only please. Donations to support Luke's family can be made at the service.

Luke our hearts are aching. A fun loving guy taken away from us too soon. We have lovely memories of you that we will cherish forever & will no doubt be sharing them with family for many years to come. Our love & thoughts are endlessly with Nic, William, Elenor, Keith & Nyree.
The only comforting thing is Luke is that your beautiful mother, Trish Hamilton has her arms wrapped around you now. Will miss you Luke, rest easy, Aunty Sandra & Uncle Les 💙💙

First got to know Luke as a young lad when I came to live at Keith and Trish’s. We shared so many family times together from New Year’s Eve parties to camping on Shell Island. Memories I’ll never forget and treasure forever. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your mum and dad with me.
We shared many interests like land rovers diy and outdoorsy stuff, and we also saw the funny side of things. I’ll miss our little chats.
I’m happy and pleased to see you grow into the fine bloke you became. An absolute privilege to have known you Luke. A brother and a friend.
God bless Nicola and the kids..
Rest easy mate. Xxx

I am so terribly sorry to read this. I haven’t seen Luke in a long time- probably not since we were 18. He was in my form since Yr 7 and then my A level psychology class at de Ferrers. I remember him as being a quiet, shy but funny guy- really easy to be around and very thoughtful. It’s hard to forget genuine people when they cross your path.

Thinking of you Nicola and the children Xx
