AlanHANDLEYMR Alan Handley, of Clayton-le-Moors, passed away peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice on Sunday, December 20, aged 77. The devoted husband of the late Barbara, muchloved and loving dad of Gillian and Gemma, dear father-in-law of Mark and Fraser, cherished grandpa of Honey, Harry, Lily, Ben and Jess and a respected brother-in-law of Pat and Ray. Alan’s working life was spent as a salesman for Refuge Insurance; he enjoyed his work and he made many good friends along the way, often spending time with his colleagues out of working hours socialising. An avid gardener, Alan loved to get out into the fresh air keeping his garden in full bloom throughout the seasons. Alan loved to party with his wife Barbara, always having fun and making the most of life. Together with his late wife they spent a lot of time away in France lovingly restoring and renovating their much-loved holiday home. Most of all Alan was a loving family man, who will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. A private funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Thursday, December 31.
