Duncan was a colleague who I admired and helped me in my career, for which I am very grateful. Reading through these tributes I can see he did so much not just professionally but in other areas of life to help so many people. He was also a friend who I will miss.

As described in the other messages in your memory, Duncan, you were not just a great friend and financial adviser, you were a great human being. It was a privilege to have known you for the past 25 years and I will always remember you. Ian Sutcliffe

I am thankful to have had Duncan in my life, firstly as my financial advisor and then, over the years, as he became a very dear friend. He had a sense of fun, and often there would be a mischievous twinkle in his eyes (lovely, kind eyes). As one of Duncan’s clients, he inspired confidence and gave reassurance. He always told it exactly as he felt it should, or could be. As a personal friend, he was an example to follow. He epitomised life and living it to the full.

Dreams that Duncan and I would grow older and wiser together will now, sadly, not materialise. He made me feel so proud of my children, and it was a pleasure to observe them chatting with him. I could see Duncan being a ‘forever’ mentor for them. Both held him in very high regard and will retain good and happy memories of him. I am sad that they will not have the benefit of his wisdom any longer.

I have shed many tears, and still they fall. I will miss Duncan forever. There are many people in my life - Duncan was one of the most special ones. I will certainly try to adopt that fabulous ‘dare to’ attitude of his, and will try to be a little more BMD (be more Duncan).

Rest in peace Duncan

Duncs,
Reading all these lovely tributes, its no surprise to see the impact you have had on the lives of all of us who’ve had the good fortune to call you their friend. You really did “walk the talk” of your Carpe Diem mindset and its a great legacy for the rest of us to try to live up to in your memory.
Rest in peace dear friend
