I knew Charlie since we first met in St Augustine's church hall youth club dance night 1964 where he played along with Arthur Cookson, Denny Errington and Dougie Tate in The Berries - we stayed in pretty much constant touch all our lives through our music - He was one of the genuinely beautiful souls that walked this world - miss you Charlie (as usual, from afar!) - Charley Foskett

I first met Charlie in 1973 when Lindisfarne Mk2 was formed. A couple of years later, he was in my band on a UK tour with Rod Clements and Pick Withers. It's been an honour to know Charlie and I will think of him often. I attach a stagey photo from 1975. (The Beardy Boys)

Whats in a name..!
I knew of the name Charlie Harcourt from being a teenager starting out as a singer in Geordieland
Who was he.. this Charlie Harcourt, a fellow Geordie, this mythical musician from Owa the Watta..(Newcastle)
Over the next 50 years his name just kept on cropping up (Junco Partners / Juncos / Lindisfarne) and when I eventually got to meet him I was absolutely thrilled to find, how wonderful a guy he really was..gentle, smiling and just.. "knowing.."
I immediately saw why everyone loved him to bits and held him in the highest esteem that any Geordie hero could dream of being held..
His is a name that will live on up here in Geordieland and afar...forever..in perpetuity
R.I.P CHARLIE HARCOURT..XX

It goes without saying that Charlie Harcourt was a great musician - a soulful deliverer of beautiful guitar work - I know that because as a fellow pro musician (knowing Charlie personally from 1964) I understand the techniques and work behind raising one's game to that height -

But this is not about music - this is about 'Soul' - and as a person Charlie Harcourt possessed a truck full of heartfelt soul, and that is really something to be proud of in a time when such an important human element and quality seems to be dwindling by the nanosecond.
For those who really knew Charlie there will be nothing but a massive gap now where he once stood, but nevertheless a gap filled with loving memories - for those who didn't know Charlie too well they missed out on a pure gem of a human being! -
Love and respect you man -
Charley Foskett
